"...for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.”
Proverbs 24:16
This week’s church planting movement principle is: Learn From Mistakes. In Philippians 3:13-14 we read: “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” How hard it is for us to admit that we make mistakes every single day and that we are in constant need of Jesus’s blood to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Movements are full of challenges, mistakes and problems. Pray that leaders will be transparent in sharing their mistakes so they can learn from one other. Ask that they live with Christ as their sufficiency and keep moving forward. Being humble is a daily walk. Being humble is a gift from God that comes to us as we obediently submit all that we are to Him. Today, ask the Holy Spirit to work more on all the areas where you fall short of the glory of God and ask Him to continue the work of sanctification he began when you came to Him and were saved.
Ask God this week to give everyone involved in church planting movements a sense of their connectedness to the family of Christ as children of God. Practice listening to Holy Spirit daily for where He is sending you to prepare His way.
