“Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” They came out of the town and made their way toward him.”
John 4:28-30
In this story of Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman, she was enabled to understand the truth. But, she didn’t keep it to herself; she quickly went back to town to tell everyone of her discovery. Each of us has a sphere of influence. Our assignment is to tell the good news effectively with everyone we meet. Although it is easy to become bogged down, whether from discouragement or success, we need to keep sharing the gospel as widely as possible. In disciple making, church planting movements, early success can be the enemy of eventual success. Followers of Jesus continue to grow in fruitfulness as they press forward among those who still have not heard. Keep your eyes lifted to the fields white for harvest.
Disciple's Prayer:
"Father, You are so wonderful. Your mercies never end... they are new every single morning. I long and pant for You like the deer pants for water. I long to be filled with Your Holy Spirit today so that living waters pour out of me to the world around me. Keep my eyes lifted to regions beyond where the gospel has gone. Help me be quick to share the good news with everyone in my sphere of influence. Let me be a fruitful branch that reproduces much for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen!"
Unreached of the Day's Prayer:
"Father, the Somali in Somalia have little witness of the gospel, yet they need You. Raise up and send out laborers among them today! Let many multiplying movements begin throughout this people. Let the fire of Your presence spread like lightning among them. Give them hope! Let every new follower quickly become an effective disciple maker that keeps sharing in their own spheres. In Jesus’ name I pray! Amen and Amen!"
