"Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness."
2 Corinthians 9:10
Today's verse speaks of seed to be sown, and that seed is the Word of God and the deposit of God's Holy Spirit within you. Ask God today to increase the seed stored in your heart to give away to others. Jesus stayed behind and the disciples went looking for food in John 4; he recognized the Samaritan woman who came to the well as a person of peace. He sowed into her heart and she in turn led her entire village to encounter Jesus. When you disciple the people that God has sent you to, you are planting the seeds of righteousness. Jesus saves and the Father draws, it is our job to simply open our mouths and God will fill our mouths with words of love and life. Ask God for greater boldness to share with people God brings in your path. Ask God to teach you how to be a disciple maker and to raise you up in the way you should go and teach others to do the same.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, show me the open doors that You've put in my life for sharing Your love with others. God, how can I show Your love to the people that are in my family, at my job, in my ministry, and around the world? Open the eyes of my heart to know You more and fill my heart with seeds to plant in others that will spring forth as a great harvest for the kingdom. May laborers among the unreached sow abundantly in the lives of people of peace today.”
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, I stand in the gap for the Arab, Northern Yemeni today. I stand in on their behalf and ask that You would send more than enough workers and church planters among them today. God, shine Your bright light among these peoples and open the eyes of the hearts of laborers to recognize people of peace who will open their households to the wonderful news of the gospel today. May many new lighthouses for the Gospel be established and flourish in Your Kingdom. Amen."
