This week’s Church Planting Movement principle is: Disciple Groups, Not Individuals. “Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests. The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the believers from Joppa went along. The following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.” —Acts 10:23b-24 Shadow pastoring means coaching the believer and their partner to lead the Discovery Bible Study with their own network of relationships. They lead from the beginning. Groups are hearing and learning together. The head of the household may be the one who leads the study. The principle is to model, then assist them, watch them on their own, then launch them out on their own--they can also do it on their own and simply report back how things went and ask further questions. Ask the Lord to open households of peace where families and groups intentionally gather for discipleship and learn to obey the truths of God’s word together. In this way, community supports the new believers as they learn to follow Jesus together. Households become lighthouses to their world.
Ask God this week to give everyone involved in church planting movements a sense of their connectedness to the family of Christ as children of God. Practice listening to Holy Spirit daily for where He is sending you to prepare His way.

Jesus, our Strength, help Your people delight in difficult circumstances, knowing that when they are weak, You are strong in them.
2 Corinthians 12:10 ”That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
