"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
Matthew 5:10-12
Persecution and suffering are inescapable in the life of a disciple of Jesus. We no longer belong to this world but we belong to the kingdom of Heaven, so the world hates us as they hated Him. Matthew 5:10-12 highlights the great blessings Jesus promised for those who faced and endured sufferings for His Name’s sake. As you share Jesus, make disciples and gather fellowships to worship and serve Him, count it all joy whenever you encounter troubles. Keep pressing forward toward the promised prize.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, I need You every moment of every day more and more and more. Don’t lead me into temptation but deliver me from evil. Give me strength for what You lead me through. Thank You that You never leave or forsake me whatever comes. Steady my heart. Keep my eyes fixed on You and the joy of Your presence.”
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, I stand in the gap for the Tamiang. Let Your Kingdom of heaven burst forth in this group with more than enough messengers of the gospel. Let each heart be good soil that hears the message of the cross and receives all You have for them. Show Your power through Holy Spirit as the Word is proclaimed with signs and wonders following. Form many multiplying movements to Jesus among the Tamiang that transform their communities by Your presence among them."
