"and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them. Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, trying to persuade Jews and Greeks."
Acts 18:3-4
Paul understood that, being a disciple of Jesus Christ, everything he did was a form of worship. Using his skills as a tentmaker not only supplied some of his needs, it created a natural bridge for the gospel among those with whom he worked and those he served with his skills. He understood all life was meant to be lived under the lordship of Jesus. In all we do from the moment we wake in the morning to the time we go to sleep at night, we are worshiping. Every thought, action, and word are worshiping something. Ask God to open your eyes to see everything in your life as acts of worship. As you go about your daily life, do everything as unto Him. Occupy for His Kingdom wherever your path takes you throughout the day. Be a follower of Jesus that becomes a fruitful disciple maker for His glory.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, show me the talents and skills that You've given me and how I can use those gifts from You to provide for myself and my family and to bless others and further your kingdom. Teach me to be a good steward of my time, talents and resources today.”
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, today I come before Your throne of grace and lift up the Yoruk of Turkey. Father, You see these beautiful people and know each one individually. You created them all, wove them in their mother’s womb by Your love. Today arise with healing in Your wings for each one and bring good news of Your reconciliation through Jesus. Send out more than enough laborers into this harvest field and bring in the full harvest to Your eternal kingdom. Help laborers recognize their time, talents and resources are meant to be used as worship to You. Empower each one to steward these well as they multiply new disciples that become effective disciple makers."
