"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."
Matthew 5:44
Opposition can be transformed when we come in the opposite spirit—we overcome evil with good. When you love your enemies, you are blessing them. When you pray for them, you are being like Jesus was. He, on the cross, forgave those who nailed Him there. Since He did and forgave us, we are able to forgive others who persecute and oppose us. God’s goodness leads us to repentance and likewise, the love we show our enemies can lead them to repentance and into a deep relationship with God. Humanly, this is impossible but with God all things are possible. Just as He loved and forgave us when we were His enemies, we can do likewise as His love flows through us.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, You are so faithful to me. You are my shield and my strength. You are abundantly present in my life. Thank You for all You do for me and through me. May my life model Jesus more and more to those around. When offenses come, let Your unfailing love flow through me to forgive and bless my enemies as You did. You bless me to be a blessing; empower me to keep connected to You so that Your love never fails to reach everyone around me for Your glory.”
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, visit the Alas. Soften their hearts and minds to be receptive to Your presence and Your Word, God. May every person have the opportunity to hear the message of good news in a way they can understand and respond. Draw many Alas men, women and children to surrender to Your wonderful love today. Multiply effective disciple makers in every place. Birth fruitful fellowships which are lighthouses of Your presence among all the peoples of Guinea and beyond."
