"When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house."
Luke 10:5-7
Today's verse speaks of contentment during ministry. As you think on this week's movement principle: look for open doors, consider how today's verse informs the principle by telling us to be content with the doors that God opens for us. The doors He opens are rarely the ones we would want to see opened, but they are the perfect doors for completing the task He has for you to move forward. In our journey closer to God in relationship and in our outward ministry of planting multiplying churches, we have to remember contentment and trust in God's way, not our own. Today, ask God to give you a heart of peace and praise for what He has given you and also for what He has not given you. His ways are higher than ours and His thoughts beyond our understanding. Today, let God be God and trust Him in new areas of your life and ministry. As He opens doors, walk through them in faith.
Disciple's Prayer for Today:
"Father, today I ask for peace to fill my ever-wandering heart. Show me new ways to be content with all that You've given me in my personal life and in my ministry. I ask that you would close doors and open doors as you please. And help me to understand that your ways are not my ways. Fill me up more and more with Yourself, Father. Open my eyes to the open doors in front of me. Prepare me to walk through them confidently.”
Prayer for the Unreached of the Day:
"Father, the Bedouin, Eastern Bedawi in Egypt need You so today I am asking You to open all the doors that lead to these peoples’ hearts. I am asking for new ways to reach them. I am asking You to show Your power, Lord, and bring about such a wonderful transformation among these peoples. I know You already have a plan, so I say, "Yes Lord! Raise up more than enough workers to walk through the open doors you prepare today. Let these ripple throughout the Bedouin, Eastern Bedawi in Egypt peoples and spread to other people groups beyond for Your glory. Amen."
