This week’s church planting movement principle is: Recognize And Engage In Spiritual Warfare. Ephesians 6:12 tells us that our struggle in this world is not against flesh and blood but against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. How easy it is to forget this simple truth about our walk and journey in this very physically-focused world! Oftentimes it is said that Satan’s greatest deception is to convince us that he does not exist. Instead, wake each day into the glorious knowledge that Jesus has already won the victory over every scheme of the enemy in every situation. Use the spiritual weapons we are given in this spiritual battle. Pray continually for God to illuminate situations to you in your journey where the enemy tries to impose himself or to hinder what God has called you to do. Ask God for overwhelming calm and understanding of the victory that was won on the cross by Jesus Christ and the power of His Mighty Name, Jesus, to which all powers and authorities must bow. Today, pray for the Holy Spirit to give you discernment to be aware of the devil’s schemes. Ask for strength and glorious victory as you fight in His strength the forces of darkness in your area(s). Pray the same for those you disciple.
Ask God this week to give everyone involved in church planting movements a sense of their connectedness to the family of Christ as children of God. Practice listening to Holy Spirit daily for where He is sending you to prepare His way.
